Planning a pool in Denman
Hot days, cool nights
Inland summers around Denman are hot but nights and winters are cool, so heating and a cover stretch the season most.
Pool heating options →Acreage & long access
On larger Denman properties the decisions are distance from the house, power and plumbing runs, and truck-and-crane access in all weather.
Installation options →Tank or bore water
If you’re not on town water, the first fill is usually delivered by water-carting tanker; top-ups can come from tanks or a bore once we’ve tested it.

What Compass Pool Centre Newcastle customers say
Verified reviews from our Google Business profile — real customers rating us 4.6 stars.
One of the best customer experiences by far. Bryce is an absolute example of ‘going above and beyond’ when he attended to our pool. He took the time to not only make sure our pool was going to be fixed within his scope but also with chemicals, and also providing us with education on how to look after our pool better. A real honest and kind human. Thank you Bryce.
Our Pool is approx 15 years old now and its been a wonderful addition to our property. It was seamless from the start to the finish of the install all those years ago. It was quick and efficient and it was a pleasure to work with your install team .
Since then we have enjoyed many years of low maintenance and a real feeling of being in a little destination in our backyard … Club M !
Had our Compass pool with in-floor cleaning installed 3 years ago. Could not fault the installation, after sales care and service. The Paramount in-floor cleaning system is amazing and handles leaf litter like magic. Recently had an issue with the module and the local office were so awesome to deal with. Very happy customer!
We have a compass self cleaning pool which was installed in 2000, still cleaning itself like a champion! Definitely recommend! ♥️ Thanks guys. :)
Very helpful and full of knowledge
Great Service. Thanks Team :)
Pools in Denman — your questions answered
Does pool water get too warm in a Denman summer?
Shallow, unshaded pools can warm up a lot in long hot spells. Partial shade, a deeper shape and good circulation keep it refreshing, and warm water needs closer attention to sanitiser levels.
How do you fill a pool if we’re not on town water?
The first fill is normally delivered by a water-carting tanker, which avoids draining your tanks. After that, top-ups can come from rainwater tanks or a bore if the water quality suits — we’ll test it and set up the sanitiser accordingly.
What about dust and wind on a rural Denman property?
Dust ends up in the filter, so a cover and a filter sized for rural conditions help. In-floor self-cleaning keeps fine debris moving to the filter rather than settling on the floor.
Saltwater, chlorine or mineral — which should we choose?
Saltwater is the most common, mineral systems feel softer on skin, and traditional chlorine is the cheapest to set up. See our side-by-side comparison.
Do I need council approval for a pool in Denman?
Muswellbrook Shire Council handles Development Applications in the shire. Some residential lots can use complying development instead, but rural zoning, on-site wastewater areas and any flood mapping on the property all shape which pathway applies. More in our certifier’s guide to the NSW approval process.
Do you really install pools as far out as Denman?
Yes. Denman is roughly 150km from our Tomago display centre, and we schedule site visits and installs out here regularly. Shells come from the Compass factory right next door to us, so there’s no long-haul freight leg on top.
