Planning a pool in Hunter Valley
Acreage & long access
On larger Hunter Valley properties the decisions are distance from the house, power and plumbing runs, and truck-and-crane access in all weather.
Installation options →Tank or bore water
If you’re not on town water, the first fill is usually delivered by water-carting tanker; top-ups can come from tanks or a bore once we’ve tested it.
Water treatment options →Hot days, cool nights
Inland summers around Hunter Valley are hot but nights and winters are cool, so heating and a cover stretch the season most.

What Compass Pool Centre Newcastle customers say
Verified reviews from our Google Business profile — real customers rating us 4.6 stars.
One of the best customer experiences by far. Bryce is an absolute example of ‘going above and beyond’ when he attended to our pool. He took the time to not only make sure our pool was going to be fixed within his scope but also with chemicals, and also providing us with education on how to look after our pool better. A real honest and kind human. Thank you Bryce.
Our Pool is approx 15 years old now and its been a wonderful addition to our property. It was seamless from the start to the finish of the install all those years ago. It was quick and efficient and it was a pleasure to work with your install team .
Since then we have enjoyed many years of low maintenance and a real feeling of being in a little destination in our backyard … Club M !
Had our Compass pool with in-floor cleaning installed 3 years ago. Could not fault the installation, after sales care and service. The Paramount in-floor cleaning system is amazing and handles leaf litter like magic. Recently had an issue with the module and the local office were so awesome to deal with. Very happy customer!
We have a compass self cleaning pool which was installed in 2000, still cleaning itself like a champion! Definitely recommend! ♥️ Thanks guys. :)
Very helpful and full of knowledge
Great Service. Thanks Team :)

Pools in Hunter Valley — your questions answered
Do you install pools on vineyard and acreage properties?
Yes. On large properties the main decisions are how far the pool sits from the house (supervision versus privacy), the length of power and plumbing runs to the equipment, and how the first fill will be delivered.
Is delivery a problem on a long or unsealed driveway?
Shells arrive on a truck and are craned into place, so what matters is whether a truck and crane can reach a suitable set-up spot — including in wet weather. We walk the access route at the site visit and plan the delivery day around it.
How long is the swimming season in the Hunter Valley?
Unheated, roughly late spring to early autumn — hot days but cooler nights than the coast. Solar heating or a heat pump plus a cover can stretch that considerably; our pool heating guide compares the options.
How do you handle service and warranty in Hunter Valley?
We stay your point of contact after handover. Many questions can be sorted by phone with a photo or a water-test result, and when a visit is needed we book it in with our regular runs to the area.
What’s the best way to heat a pool here?
It depends on how you’ll use it. Solar suits extending the season cheaply, heat pumps give reliable warmth, and gas heats fastest. Our heating guide compares all three.
Which council approves a pool in Hunter Valley?
The Hunter Valley spans several councils — Cessnock, Singleton, Maitland and Muswellbrook among them — so the consent authority depends on your address. The two pathways are the same everywhere: a Development Application, or a Complying Development Certificate where the site qualifies. More in our certifier’s guide to the NSW approval process.
What affects the cost of a pool in Hunter Valley?
As an indicative guide only, most of our fibreglass projects land somewhere between about $35,000 and $85,000+ installed, depending on pool size and extras such as fencing, paving, heating and self-cleaning. On rural properties the big variables are travel, water carting for the first fill, longer power and plumbing runs, and site access for the truck and crane. A free site visit gives you a fixed, itemised quote for your property.
What warranty comes with a Compass pool?
A triple warranty — structural, cosmetic and hydrostatic — backed by Compass Pools Australia. Bi-Luminite colours carry a lifetime structural warranty, Vivid colours 25 years. Warranty details.
