Had our Compass pool with in-floor cleaning installed 3 years ago. Could not fault the installation, after sales care and service. The Paramount in-floor cleaning system is amazing and handles leaf litter like magic. Recently had an issue with the module and the local office were so awesome to deal with. Very happy customer!

Should our Kotara pool be level with the house or down in the yard?
Level with the living area gives the best indoor-outdoor flow; lower in the yard usually means less excavation. On sloping blocks Maxi Rib lets you split the difference with a raised edge that doubles as seating.
What’s the best way to heat a pool here?
It depends on how you’ll use it. Solar suits extending the season cheaply, heat pumps give reliable warmth, and gas heats fastest. Our heating guide compares all three.
Which council approves a pool in Kotara?
Pools here are approved either through a Development Application with City of Newcastle, or — where the block and design meet the state’s complying development standards — a Complying Development Certificate from a registered certifier. Older parts of Newcastle can bring heritage controls, mine subsidence checks or tight setbacks into play, which may push a project towards a DA. We check the controls for your address before quoting. Can a crane get a pool shell into a typical suburban backyard?
Usually, yes — most shells are lifted over the house from the street, so side access matters less than people expect. What we check is crane position, overhead power lines, street width and room for an excavator. Where access is genuinely tight, the compact Plunge range is often the answer.
How long will we be without a backyard during the build?
Excavation and installation take days; fencing, paving and landscaping take a few weeks more. Temporary fencing has to stay up the whole time, so plan for kids and pets to have another play area for a while.
