Planning a pool in Singleton
Acreage & long access
On larger Singleton properties the decisions are distance from the house, power and plumbing runs, and truck-and-crane access in all weather.
Installation options →Flood mapping
Some lots in and around Singleton are flood-mapped by Singleton Council. That can set the pool level, the surrounds and whether a Development Application is needed.
The approval process →Hot days, cool nights
Inland summers around Singleton are hot but nights and winters are cool, so heating and a cover stretch the season most.

What Compass Pool Centre Newcastle customers say
Verified reviews from our Google Business profile — real customers rating us 4.6 stars.
One of the best customer experiences by far. Bryce is an absolute example of ‘going above and beyond’ when he attended to our pool. He took the time to not only make sure our pool was going to be fixed within his scope but also with chemicals, and also providing us with education on how to look after our pool better. A real honest and kind human. Thank you Bryce.
Our Pool is approx 15 years old now and its been a wonderful addition to our property. It was seamless from the start to the finish of the install all those years ago. It was quick and efficient and it was a pleasure to work with your install team .
Since then we have enjoyed many years of low maintenance and a real feeling of being in a little destination in our backyard … Club M !
Had our Compass pool with in-floor cleaning installed 3 years ago. Could not fault the installation, after sales care and service. The Paramount in-floor cleaning system is amazing and handles leaf litter like magic. Recently had an issue with the module and the local office were so awesome to deal with. Very happy customer!
We have a compass self cleaning pool which was installed in 2000, still cleaning itself like a champion! Definitely recommend! ♥️ Thanks guys. :)
Very helpful and full of knowledge
Great Service. Thanks Team :)

Pools in Singleton — your questions answered
Where should the pool go on a semi-rural Singleton block?
Close enough to the house for easy supervision, in afternoon sun, and away from large trees. On lots with an on-site wastewater system the pool also has to keep clear of the effluent disposal area, which often decides the position.
Can the pool be built while our new Singleton house is under construction?
Often that’s the ideal time — before fences and landscaping block crane and excavator access. We coordinate timing with your builder so the pool slots in after the main structure without holding anything up.
Can we see the pools in person before deciding?
Yes — our Tomago display centre has shells and colour samples you can see and touch, and it sits right next to the Compass Pools NSW factory. Call ahead and we’ll make sure someone is free to walk you through.
How do you handle service and warranty in Singleton?
We stay your point of contact after handover. Many questions can be sorted by phone with a photo or a water-test result, and when a visit is needed we book it in with our regular runs to the area.
Do I need council approval for a pool in Singleton?
Approval runs through Singleton Council for a Development Application, or a Complying Development Certificate where the lot qualifies. Rural and rural-residential lots often have larger setbacks and on-site wastewater systems the pool must stay clear of, and some land near the Hunter River is flood-mapped. More in our certifier’s guide to the NSW approval process.
Is delivery a problem on a long or unsealed driveway?
Shells arrive on a truck and are craned into place, so what matters is whether a truck and crane can reach a suitable set-up spot — including in wet weather. We walk the access route at the site visit and plan the delivery day around it.
What affects the cost of a pool in Singleton?
As an indicative guide only, most of our fibreglass projects land somewhere between about $35,000 and $85,000+ installed, depending on pool size and extras such as fencing, paving, heating and self-cleaning. On rural properties the big variables are travel, water carting for the first fill, longer power and plumbing runs, and site access for the truck and crane. A free site visit gives you a fixed, itemised quote for your property.
